Versailles is a handcut Tyvek paper suspended installation based on the gates of the lavish and extravagant palace of Versailles. It explores a historical and political landmark symbolic of privilege and power. Originally covered with gold, it was dismantled during the French Revolution and recreated and decorated with 100,000 gold leaves in 2008. The work is meant to appear luxurious, playful and confrontational while exploring the notion of a boundary.
